Mac Kreuter, Jim Loney Jr., Harry Chill, and Wayne Nelson are attending Boys State this week at North High School in Wichita. Marion girls who will go to Girls State at Lawrence next week are Peggy Lou Gerstenkorn and Florence Irene King.

The Sub Deb Club enjoyed a wiener roast and meeting at the home of Nancy Colburn last Thursday evening. Miss Mary Alice Rees gave a talk on beauty hints followed by a short business meeting.

Mrs. J.B. Skinner entertained the members of her Sunday school class of the Presbyterian church with a picnic at her home last Thursday. Those present were Wanda Hannaford, Mary Louise Tibbetts, Jack Beaston, Junior Case, Allen Hein, and Jeanne Carpenter who was a guest of the class.

Mrs. Roger Hannaford and Mary Margaret visited from Friday until Sunday with her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Reed at El Dorado. On Friday night, Mrs. Hannaford attended the El Dorado High School alumni banquet. On Sunday, Mr. Hannaford, Wanda and Buddy and Mrs. Bert McCullough drove to El Dorado for them and spent the day there.

Mr. Guy Jackson of the Jackson Clothing store has been in Kansas City this week at a meeting of the Allied Clothiers group, purchasing stock for fall.

Miss Evelyn Corey, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Corey of Diamond Springs, was united in marriage to Mr. Burt Jewett, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Jewett of Lincolnville, June 6 at the Evangelical church in Lincolnville.

Leonard Perry of the Owl Car Lunch has been appointed chairman of War Bond and Stamp Sales in the county for the restaurant industry and the Kansas Restaurant Association.

Mrs. Frank Hagans and children visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Morris, last week in Manhattan while Mr. Hagans attended the 4-H Roundup there.
