The Wichita papers carried the announcement that Don Hollar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hollar, has been elected president of the junior class at Wichita University. Don is a Naval Reserve student.

Mrs. Harry Harris entertained on Tuesday evening with a birthday party in honor of her daughter Patsy's 12th birthday. The girl played games and had a grand time. The Marion High School football team lost its game 34 to 6 Friday evening on the local ground to the invading team from Augusta. The score, however, doesn't tell the whole story. The smaller Marion boys fought gamely against a weighty team they could not handle. Toward the end of the game, Marion pulled a spinner around right end and Ralph Johnston took the ball over for the only Marion score. Marion failed to convert.
