Three days rainfall, culminating in a downpour Friday night over the watershed of Clear Creek, Mud Creek and the Cottonwood River sent streams out of their banks to flood many acres and to reach a depth of about 18 inches in Marion's Main Street Saturday, remaining there throughout the day. Water reached the depth of 18 inches in Newcomer's garage, 12 inches in the Cubby Hole, and six inches in the Marion Pharmacy. Many however escaped the flood except for the universal filling of basements throughout the valley.
