A farewell party for Wayne Nelson and Orville Van Buren was given Saturday morning at the Country Club by the senior class of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. W.W. Pfautz is the teacher. An early swim was followed by a breakfast. Those present were the guests of honor, Barbara Brose, Wanda Hannaford, Mary Louise Tibbetts, Pauline Keazer, Junior Case, Rosse Case, Jack Beaston, Gene Nelson, and Mrs. Paul Shahan who is teaching the class while Mrs. Pfautz is away on vacation.

No boy at the Scout camp Monday evening was eligible to have his supper unless he had some piece of mail — letter or card — ready to mail to his parents. You guessed it! Every boy was at the table.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bernhardt entertained the members of the Evangelical male quartet and their wives at dinner Friday evening. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. August Hett Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Blankley, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Stiller, and the Bernhardts.

Mary Margaret Hannaford entertained Monday night with a slumber party and breakfast. Her guests were Caroline and Patricia Platt, Janice Meisner, Patricia Henry, and Sarabel Wolf.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark Johnston entertained at dinner Sunday in honor of Sgt. Albert Johnston who was home on furlough from his base in Nashville, Tenn. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Rempel and Etta Mae, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Reiswig and girls, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Johnston and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Herbel and family, Miss Hazel Dorsett of Eureka, and Mr. Albert Stroda.

Mrs. Randolph Carpenter and Mrs. Roscoe King took a group of girls to Sedgwick Tuesday evening to attend the young people's Caravan at the Methodist church. Those who went were Mary Helen and Florence Irene King, Jeanne Carpenter, LaVerna Knight, Norma Jean Amick, and Mary Lou Williams.

Harry Barnes was in town Wednesday looking for a scythe and seemed relieved that he couldn't find one. Sort of like the person with a toothache who finds the dentist out.
