The Kaw Theatre should not show Tarzan pictures. After one was here last week a bunch of boys were up on "Dogfish Island" north of the waterworks. Bob Reinke went to do a Tarzan on a grape vine, fell and broke his arm.

Two soldier boys from Peabody have been recent casualties in their camps in this country. This week Lawrence Good, son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Good of southeast of Peabody, drowned while swimming near Lawton, Okla. He had been in the army only since May and was married less than a month ago. Orville Spangler, in a camp in this country, was operated on for appendicitis; pneumonia developed and resulted in his death.

Sammy Jewett Jr., small son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Jewett, escaped serious injury Tuesday when he rode his bicycle into the path of a car driven by Mr. Will Siebert. According to witnesses, Sammy darted our from behind a parked car directly into the path of Mr. Siebert's car and was thrown from his bike. The accident proved much less serious than it easily could have been.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hannaford entertained at dinner Tuesday in honor of the 11th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Wolf. Places were marked for Mr. and Mrs. Wolf and Sarabel, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Newcomer and John, and Mr. and Mrs. Hannaford and children.

Miss Evelyn Matlock and Mrs. B. Williamson entertained Monday evening with a bridge party in honor of Miss Catherine Riddle who will leave soon for induction into the WAVES. Miss Riddle received a lovely going-away gift from the group and also won high score prize.

The Business and Professional Women's class of the Methodist Sunday school enjoyed a hamburger fry at the Lake Monday night. Those present were Misses Edna Rupp, Barbara Lea Knight, Nadine Stallard, Viola Thompson, Nina Thompson, Elsie Suderman, Ada Woolheater, Irma Kreutziger, Dorothy Pollitt, and Mr. Paul Williams, who is the teacher.
