Meal will be served in Marion restaurants at present prices until given further relief by the O.P.A. or until meat is decontrolled entirely, It was decided by local restaurant owners in a meeting at the Green Parrot Café with the field representative of the Kansas Restaurant Association. Members of the local organization are Ben Meier, Rainbow Café; Bob DeCatsye, Del Mar; Lee Greenemeyer, Lee's Grill; Archie Marler, Dinette; Harry Weibert, Owl Car; E.M. Hawbecker, Cubby Hole; and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Coons, Green Parrot.

John Price celebrated his seventh birthday with a party at his home Sept. 26. Those there were Bruce Dale Coe, Dale Johnson, Larry Olsen, Jon Wayne Thole, Dean Klenda, John Minear and John Shull. John's mother, Mrs. D.A. Price, was assisted by Mrs. Sam Thole and Mrs. Albert Klenda in serving ice cram and birthday cake after the boys enjoyed a wiener roast.

Marion County electors will vote at the general election on the proposition of building a county building for the use of the highway department as a shop and warehouse building at an estimated cost of $25,000.

Mrs. Edwin Burkholder invited the following girls to dinner Tuesday evening honoring her daughter Anne, who was celebrating her 16th birthday: Naomi McIntosh, Loyette Hollar, Patsy Harris, Virginia Geis, Phyllis Larsen, Cherridah Mullikin, Betty Williams, Marilyn Hayen, Shirley Collett, Pat Brose, Donna Hobein, Donna Jean Christensen and Georgia Christensen.

Larry Robertson, 11, son of Mrs. Ruth Robertson, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita Tuesday for treatment for polio.

Members of Sub Deb Club enjoyed a slumber party at the Country Club clubhouse. The membership includes Jean Hagans, Rose Marie Avery, Janice Socolofsky, Corrine Longhofer, Imogene Mathiot, Norma Jean Province, Norma Jean Sandwell, Delores Edmunds, Wanda Ireland, Donna Powell, Colleen Vogel, Patsy Harris, Anne Burkholder, Betty Williams, Loyette Hollar, Virginia Geis, Marilyn Hayen, and initiates Donna Jean Christensen and Jerry Lou Johnson. Donna Jean and Jerry Lou sang Christmas carols on Main Street Saturday night as part of an initiation ceremony. Mary Ray is sponsor of the group.

Iva June Avery celebrated her 14th birthday by inviting the following girls to a slumber party Friday night: Edith Graham, Darlene Zeller, Joyce Keazer and Patsy Hett.
