The junior high class of Marion High School will present a three-act play, "Act Your Age," Jan. 29 in the high school auditorium. Characters are played by Donna Powell, Dolores Edmunds, Alta Stenzel, Jim Garrison, Don Schlotz, Jean Hagans, Margaret Pientka, Clyde Hiebert and Norma Jean Sandwell. The play is directed by Miss Maude Thompson. The business manager is Corrine Longhofer and the property manager, Allen Hein.
Cpl. Jean Dixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claud Dixon, is chosen as one of 40 WACS assigned to go to England to assist in bringing war brides and their babies to the States.
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Stika are the parents of a daughter born Jan. 20 in the Marion hospital. A daughter, Clarice Ann, was born at the hospital Jan. 19 to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Scharenberg.
A large group of Marion people, including many school students, attended the Kansas City Philharmonic Orchestra performance on Tuesday in Emporia. Those attending included Mrs. Leslie Powell, Donna and Junior, Buddy Hannaford, Ruth Ann Kline, Rose Marie Avery, Coleen Vogel, Mrs. Emory Hawbecker and Jacquelin, Naomi Ruth McIntosh, Virginia Hayen, Suzanne Wheeler, Patricia Brose, Betty Williams, Delores Edmunds, Corrine Longhofer, Jean Hagans, Norma Jean Province, Rev. F.E. Good and Ernestine, Iva June Avery, Donna Clair Miesse, Kathryn Popp, Joyce Keazer, Virginia Wright, Cherridah Mullikin, Donna Christensen, Georgia Christensen, Gladys Eitzen, Loyette Hollar, Darlene Zeller, Ethel Hiebert, Edna Grimes, Patsy Rittel, Janice Meisner, and Roberta Newsom.
