Bonds to the amount of $10,000, issued for the purchase of a municipal airport, will be sold at the April 23 meeting of the City Commissioners. The bonds will mature over a period of five years and will be callable at any interest bearing date after three years. They will bear interest at the rate of 1 1/2 percent payable annually.

Carmen Siebert celebrated her seventh birthday April 4 with a party for her friends. Those present were Billie Jean and Diana Herbert, Betty Jean Ford, Karen Brodhead, Patricia Dixon, Vicki Black, Judy Coons, Jeannine Williamson, Carol Jean Allen, Nancy Keazer, Marjorie Ann Bernhardt, Jeanette Russell, Kay Navrat, and Miss Thelma Thompson, Carmen's teacher. Refreshments were served and everyone had a good time.

Marion and surrounding area will cooperate in the nationwide effort to collect 150,000,000 pounds of good used clothing to be distributed free to needy and destitute men, women and children in war-devastated countries.

Mrs. Wayne Varenhorst entertained for her small son, Dickie Wayne's first birthday Tuesday at four o'clock. Guests included his small friends and their mothers. The group included Mrs. Curtis Langley and Charlotte, Mrs. Ralph Vohs and Gary, Mrs. Plato Kimball and Deanna, Mrs. Leland Weber and Gary, Mrs. Lysle Russell, Johnny and Jeanette, Mrs. Francis Roberts, Gerry and Paul Wesley. Also present were Dickie Wayne's great-grandmother Mrs. W.B. Miesse and his grandmother, Mrs. Orville Miesse, Donna Clair and J.B.
