'Faith' is beautiful word
I'm a celebrity now! I have just had my fifteen minutes of glory, so now I can lean back and enjoy my "place in the sun." This, all because an article about me appeared in the Marion County Record — pictures and all. I, at first, objected to a picture, but when I saw it and it flattered my wrinkled face, I felt better about it.
If you are like me, you have dozens of photograph albums full of pictures of yourself and your family from way back — then of the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. I love looking at them. They bring back such wonderful memories. There also are pictures of my "girl" friends and, of course, we always celebrated each other's birthday with pictures.
Cameras have changed so much through the years. My first was a box camera. It took very good pictures and they still are good. The other day, my picture was taken by a digital camera and you could see the picture immediately, color and all.
When I was in high school, we girls had a movie party on the third floor of our house. Each girl came depicting some movie star. We had grape juice for wine (don't tell me that the movies don't influence young people). We had cubebs (a cigarette made from crushed dried berries). They really were to be smoked to cure a stopped-up nose. I suppose you could get them over-the-counter.
Of course we had to have pictures. The camera was the kind that was placed on a pedestal with a cloth over it and your head, and you lighted some explosive powder to cause a flash of lights.
Those were the days!
