Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Malvin W. Schmidt, 79, 1062 U.S.-56, Hillsboro, was stopped at a stop sign at Ash and Third streets, Hillsboro, waiting to turn south on Ash in a 2000 Dodge Intrepid at 11:50 a.m. June 28, when he pulled in front of a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Ethan L. Frantz, 16, 878 250th, Hillsboro. The Pontiac was owned by Leonard A. Frantz, of the same address. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Duane McCarty reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Joni K. Wiebe, 18, 421 340th, Tampa, was eastbound on 330th Road, Tampa, in a 2004 Honda Accord at 9:40 p.m. July 9, when a deer came from a south ditch and was struck. The driver was not injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Travis Wilson.
