Accidents
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Leigha N. Stafford, 16, 804 North Walnut, Peabody, lost control of her 1996 Mercury on Mustang just north of 90th at 4:17 p.m. Feb. 11. The vehicle hit an embankment. Sammi L. Stafford of the home is the registered owner. Kayla L. Hymer, 16, 4675 Northwest 160th, Burns was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputy Duane McCarty states there were no injuries.
Natasha A. McIrvin, 18, Lehigh, was driving a 1992 Ford XL passenger car at 11:12 a.m. Saturday northbound on Goldenrod, north of 190th, when it entered an east ditch, and rolled end over end. She was transported by ambulance to Hillsboro Community Medical Center. She was not wearing a seat belt.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. Feb. 28 a 1992 Buick Century owned by Irv Schroeder County Motors of Hillsboro, was struck by an unknown vehicle while parked in a parking lot at Hillsboro Elementary School, 812 E. A, Hillsboro. Judy Penner had parked the loaner vehicle between 6 and 7:30 a.m. and discovered the damage at 10 a.m., reported Hillsboro Police Sergeant Chad Funk.
At 1 p.m. March 5, Alice M. Koop, 79, 206 South Date, Hillsboro, backed from a parking stall in a Dodge Caravan at ALCO Discount Store, 615 N. Ash, Hillsboro, struck a parked 2001 Buick Century that was owned by Evelyn Jewitt, 513 N. Freeborn, Marion, and drove away. Koop stated she did not realize she had struck the vehicle, reported Sgt. Funk.
