Accidents

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Roberta Ann Winter, 44, 215 W. Fifth Street, Florence, was traveling westbound on 190th between Mustang and Nighthawk at 5:38 a.m. Aug. 4, when a dog entered the roadway and the driver was unable to avoid hitting the animal. The vehicle, a 2000 Ford Taurus, sustained more than $1,000 in damages, reported Marion County Sheriff Deputy Jim Philpott, and the driver was not injured.

Jonathan T. Christian, 52, 2473 Falcon, Hillsboro, was eastbound on U.S.-56 west of K-15 at 10:05 p.m. Aug. 16, in a 1993 Mazda Protégé passenger car when a deer came from a north ditch and entered the roadway. The vehicle struck the deer. Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.

Marc S. Schroeder, 27, 310 N. Jefferson Street, Hillsboro, was backing a 1996 Ford F-150 pickup from his residence at 7:28 a.m. Saturday when his vehicle struck the left front fender of a 1991 Ford Tempo, owned by Kiana M. Fairchild and David Horton, 415 S. Main Street, #9, Hillsboro, and parked across from the drive. Bobby J. Jones, 31, 207 S. Lincoln Street, Hillsboro, was a passenger in the Schroeder vehicle. There were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages, reported Hillsboro Police Officer David Funk.
