Accidents reported
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Jon W. Anderson, 41, Newton, was eastbound in a 1998 Ford van on U.S.-50 near Pawnee Road at 3:50 a.m. Oct. 28, when a deer came from the north ditch. The driver was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Karin S. Anderson, 29, of the same address, was a passenger. The van was registered to Security Transports Systems of Topeka. Marion County Sheriff Sergeant Jeff Soyez reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
David Oliver Sigmon Jr., 20, 3166 Remington, Lincolnville, was southbound in a 1997 GMC pickup on Remington Road near 250th at 7 p.m. Oct. 31, when a deer came from a west ditch and was struck. Johnathan C. Prebble, 3, of the same address, was a passenger. No one was injured and there was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Sgt. Soyez.
James R. Mosier, 41, Hutchinson, was southbound on U.S.-56 near 320th Road in a 1998 Toyota Avalon at 1:55 a.m. Nov. 8, when a deer entered the roadway from the west. The driver was unable to avoid hitting the deer. Sgt. Soyez reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Lisa A. Henson, 47, 2209 Kanza, Hillsboro, was southbound on Indigo Road near 90th in a 2005 Buick LeSabre at 6:05 p.m. Nov. 9, when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. Corbin H. Henson, 12, of the same address, was a passenger. There were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages, reported Undersheriff Randal Brazil.
Celeste R. Vanderwilt, 89, 510 S. Wilson, Hillsboro, was driving a 1987 Buick at 3:25 p.m. Nov. 10, in an alley between Main and Washington streets in Hillsboro, when she pulled out in front of a 1992 Mercury Tracer driven by Mary Hoffner, 67, 215 N. Main, Hillsboro. Wanda Dush, 50, of the same address, was a passenger in the Hoffner vehicle. Hillsboro Police Officer Matt Vogt reported there were no injuries and more than $1,000 in damages.
Alison L. Burnett, 17, 508 W. Seventh, Lincolnville, was southbound on Remington Road near 240th in a 1992 Dodge at 11:45 p.m. Nov. 10, when the vehicle struck a calf that was standing in the southbound lane. Ricky Leshure, 21, 317 S. Lincoln, Marion, was a passenger. The driver was injured but the report did not indicate she was transported to a hospital. There was more than $1,000 in damages, reported Sgt. Soyez.
