Accidents reported

The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:

Christopher R. Brown, 21, 400 S. Jefferson, Hillsboro, was northbound on Goldenrod near 190th in a 1985 GMC pickup at 3:45 p.m. Dec. 10 when the vehicle went onto an east shoulder. The driver overcorrected which caused the vehicle to cross the road, enter backward in a west ditch, spin, and flip on its side. Marion County Sheriff Deputy Josh Whitwell reported there were no injuries and less than $1,000 in damages.

Malcolm Frisby, 73, Abilene, was northbound on K-15 near 210th in a 1990 Chevrolet van at 7:05 p.m. Dec. 10 when a deer entered the roadway from a west ditch and was struck. Passengers in the van were Barbara Frisby, 64, of the same address, and Colby Johnson, 10, Salina. There were no injuries, reported Deputy Whitwell. No damage estimate was indicated.

Gwyn R. Schreefer, 38, Wakefield, was driving a 2007 Blue Vision bus at 9:10 p.m. Dec. 15 in front of Centre High School when the right rear of the vehicle struck the left rear taillight of a legally parked vehicle. The bus was registered to USD 379 Clay County, Wakefield. The owners of the parked vehicle were David and Dawn Kaiser, 408 Topeka, Lincolnville. Marion County Undersheriff Randal Brazil reported there were no injuries. No damage estimate was indicated.

Justin R. Janow, 26, 105 S. A Street, Herington, was westbound on 360th near Remington in a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer at 1:49 a.m. Dec. 16 when he lost control of the vehicle, entered a north ditch, struck a fence, and overturned at least one time. The vehicle was registered to Rebecca James of the same address. According to the report made by Undersheriff Brazil the driver was injured but the report did not indicate if he was transported to a local hospital.

Willis Peterson, 65, 136 Lakeshore Drive, Marion, was southbound on U.S.-56/77 near 250th in a 1999 Ford F-350 pickup at 5:40 p.m. Dec. 16 when a deer came from an east ditch and was struck. The driver was not injured and damage was less than $1,000 reported Undersheriff Brazil.
