Accidents reported
The following accidents were reported to Marion County law enforcement agencies:
Rebeckah E. Davis, 21, West 102 Fifth, Tampa, was southbound on Kanza just south of 260th at 7 a.m. Dec. 13. As Davis crossed an icy overpass she lost control of her 2000 Chevrolet, hitting a guardrail. Sergeant Jeff Soyez states she was not injured. The vehicle is registered to Clark Davis of the home.
Martin S. Vinduska, 44, 1778 280th, Marion, was northbound on Remington at 260th at 7:45 p.m. Dec. 17. A deer came from the west ditch and was struck by Vinduska's 2002 Saturn. Vinduska was not injured, reports Deputy Josh Whitwell.
Karl J. Sechrist, 38, 305 South Ash, Hillsboro, was southbound on Indigo just south of 130th at 6:14 a.m. Dec. 16. A deer entered the roadway and was struck by Sechrist's 1991 Toyota. Deputy Rollin Schmidt reports Sechrist was not injured.
Jennifer L. Gaines, 29, Newton, was northbound on Sunflower just north of 180th at 6 a.m. Dec. 17. The roadway was snow packed. Gaines, driving a 1999 Dodge Caravan began sliding on the snow and hit a bridge embankment. Gaines was not injured, reports Deputy Schmidt.
Keith D. Unterseher, 62, Augusta, was eastbound on 60th at Old Mill at 8:35 p.m. Dec. 17. While attempting to turn south onto Old Mill, Unterseher's 2000 Chevrolet K1500 slid on snow-packed roadway and entered the east ditch, struck a stop sign, and overturned. Passenger in the vehicle was Carolyn Stock, 61, Augusta. Deputy Larry Starkey reports no one was injured.
William J. Anderson, 39, 314 South 1st, Marion was pulling into a driveway on 140th just west of Quail Creek. Anderson was unable to negotiate the turn and stopped. Roberta A. Winter, 44, 215 West 5th, Florence, was eastbound and unable to stop due to the slippery road. Winter's 2000 Ford Taurus struck Anderson's 1998 Peterbuilt truck, registered to Bar H. Trucking, 1767 140th, Marion. Timothy Butler, 39, 408 North Adams, Hillsboro, was a passenger in the Winter vehicle. No injures were reported, states Deputy Mike Vineski.
Brandon S. Albrecht, 15, 3089 DD Ave., Lost Springs, was northbound on Wagonwheel just north of 310. A deer entered the roadway. Albrecht swerved his 1993 Chevrolet Suburban and missed the deer. He lost control of the vehicle, entered the north shoulder, and struck three trees. The vehicle is registered to Troy W. Peterson of the home. Albrecht was not injured, reports Deputy Vinesk
