Agnes Price
Agnes LaBelle Price, 96, well known former Marion resident, died Oct. 21, 2002, at Superior, Neb.
The youngest of the 12 children of John and Anna (Baxa) Spachek she was born Jan. 1, 1906, on a farm near Ebson. She attended grade and high school at Ebson, graduating from Concordia Business College.
She was assistant cashier at Farmers and Drovers National Bank in Marion for 50 years.
On Nov. 4, 1930, she was married to David Auburn Price at Newton. The couple had three children.
She was active in Valley United Methodist Church, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, WSCS of the church, and the National Association of Bank Women.
A devoted mother, she was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the wren houses in her back yard, picnics, baseball, cooking, flowers, and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Shirley Ann Price and Ginger Kay Price; and ll brothers and sisters, Mary Spachek, Josephine Spachek, Peter Spachek, Barbara Lola, Bessie Shackelton, Bertha Hanus, Thomas Spachek, Frances Kindler, Albert Spachek, Mildred Tajchman, and Wilma Spachek.
She is survived by her son, John E. Price and special friend Muriel Van Auken of Superior, Neb.; two grandchildren, John D. Price and Joe C. Price; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Funeral services were held today, Wednesday, at 2 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Kennedy Mukwindidza officiating. Vocal music was by Keith Collett as soloist.
Pall bearers were John D. Price, Joe C. Price, Gavin Peters, Kyle Peters, Jillyn Schmidt, Deanna Klenda, and Leland Kindler.
Burial was in Marion Cemetery.
