Alan Vogel receives FFA proficiency award
Alan Vogel of Marion was recognized April 7 as the winner of the South Central District FFA Grain Production Entrepreneurship proficiency award.
Vogel and 29 other students were recognized at the district awards banquet which was held in Arkansas City.
Proficiency awards are based on the student's supervised agriculture experience (SAE) program. The SAE is the student's extended learning beyond the classroom. Vogel's program consists of 80 acres of rented ground used to raise wheat and milo for the past two years.
Vogel, who is a senior at Marion High School and the son of Randal and Carol Vogel of rural Marion, will compete for recognition at the state level at the state FFA convention in June.
