Albert Piper

Albert E. Piper, 88, formerly of Hope, died May 13, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Abilene.

Born Feb. 27, 1914, near Hope, he was the son of the late August and Phillipina (Niemeier) Piper.

He grew up in the community and attended schools there. On March 14, 1954, he married Elma Hett near Marion.

He was a farmer/stockman and member of First Baptist Church of Dickinson County.

He and his wife moved to Abilene 18 months ago due to health reasons.

Survivors include his wife, Elma, of the home; and his brother, Harvey Piper of Hope. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and a nephew.

Services were held Thursday afternoon at First Baptist Church of Dickinson County with the Rev. Chester Strobel and the Rev. Warren Hett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his name are suggested to the National Parkinson Foundation.
