Allen wedding

Emily N. Wedel and Blake P. Allen were united in marriage July 27, 2002, at the Christian Church in Galva. Gary Allen officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Linda and Dennis Wedel of Canton and granddaughter of Lorraine Havlik of Marion and Lucile and Irby Wedel of Canton. The groom's parents are Gary and Karen Allen of Tribune.

Candlelighters were the bride's cousin Jacob Hietzenrater and the groom's niece Shelby Hild.

Music was provided by the groom's sister Tammy Hild, pianist, and Jaclyn White, soloist.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a sleeveless matte satin gown with spaghetti straps. The dress was a Signature Design by Gina and featured an A-line style highlighted with beaded embroidered lace flowing down the entire length of the chapel train. The embroidered lace had a vine motif that carried over to the crown of the waist length veil. She carried a clutch of white roses and blue delphinium in nosegay style tied with a silver ribbon.

Koren Wedel of Canton attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Wedel, also a sister of the bride, and Kim Krase. They wore silver two-piece strapless gowns that fastened to the side with two silver and pearl buttons.

The bride's personal attendant was Laurey Scott.

Cassidy Hild, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Cade Allen, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Serving the groom as best man was his brother, Chad Allen. Groomsmen were Landon Shafer, cousin of the groom. and Shannon Billinger. Guests were seated by the bride's brother Nicholas Wedel and Phil Hammeke. The ushers and groomsmen wore black tuxedos with four-button jackets lined in a buff satin trim with silver ties. The groom wore a matching tuxedo with white tie and a white rose boutonniere.

The guest book attendant was the groom's sister-in-law, Kenli Allen. Programs were distributed by Tiffany Kleymann. Tiffany Wedel, cousin of the bride, attended the gift table.

Joyce Renken, Janelle Nelson, and the bride's cousin Keri Wedel were hosts at the reception which was held in the church's social rooms.

The bride is a graduate of Canton-Galva High School and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Fort Hays State University. She is teaching at Edith Scheurman Elementary School.

The groom is a graduate of Greeley County High School. He received a bachelor's degree in accounting and financial planning from Fort Hays State University. He is employed by Kennedy and Coe, LLC.

The couple's honeymoon in Texas included the cities of Galveston, Houston, and San Antonio.

The couple lives in Garden City.
