Anne Cyr
Anne L. Cyr, 59, McPherson, died June 22, 2003, at McPherson Memorial Hospital.
Formerly of Marion, she began working in the Marion County Road and Bridge Department as secretary in 1977. Previously she had taught school, starting in 1966 at Elmdale High School teaching business and commerce courses; worked for an insurance agency several years; and taught at Assumption Grade School, Topeka. She retired in 2001 due to disability. She moved from Marion to McPherson at that time.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, and formerly was a member of St. Mark's church in Marion. She also belonged to St. Joseph's Altar Society and St. Joseph's Legion of Mary.
Born Jan. 12, 1944, at Goessel, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Eloise (Burgat) Patry.
She married Carl E. Cyr Aug. 5, 1967, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Florence.
Survivors include her husband, Carl, of the home in McPherson; son, James Cyr of Marion; daughters, Pamela Ratzloff of Marion and Patricia Cyr of Hillsboro; brothers, Charles Patry of Horton, Donald Patry of Whitewater, and Douglas Patry of Wichita; four grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was offered today, Wednesday, at the church in McPherson with Father Paul Oborny officiating. Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in her name with the stained glass window fund at the church.
