Arnold Bentz
Arnold E. Bentz, 82, died Dec. 31, 2003, at Albuquerque, N.M.
He was born May 1, 1921, on a farm near Tampa and was the son of Phillip and Elsie Bentz.
He attended school at Tampa and served in the U.S. Navy for three and one-half years during World War II.
On Jan. 11, 1944, he married Lillian Gabrielson Nolan.
He retired from Sandia Labs after 37 years of service. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran church and taught Sunday school and was a choir member for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Arnold Jr.; two sisters; and four brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Rhonda Bentz; daughter-in-law, Cathy Bentz; a brother, Otto Bentz of Tampa; a sister, Esther Loy of McPherson; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Jan. 5 and inurnment will follow at a later date.
