Arrests made in drug sting operation in Peabody

At 7 p.m. Oct. 24, an individual offered to sell opium to an undercover officer and then offered to assist in setting up a methamphetamine transaction.

At 8 p.m. Oct. 24, an individual attempted to sell opium to an undercover officer. Instead the officer purchased marijuana and negotiated to purchase .5 grams of methamphetamine the next day. During the execution of a search warrant, drug paraphernalia and marijuana were found in the suspect's residence.

Both incidents occurred in the 400 block of Vine Street, Peabody, and were conducted by Marion County Sheriff's Department.

The individual(s) were arrested and charged with drug-related offenses.

A license tag was removed from a 1995 Dodge van Oct. 24 and reported Nov. 6 to Marion County Sheriff Deputy Josh Whitwell. The incident occurred while parked on the victim's property on 70th Road.
