Assisted living project underway
Marion Assisted Living is continuing to develop an assisted living residence on its site on Eisenhower Street.
It currently is preparing bond documents for the financing of the project.
As part of its review, a cost to benefit analysis was conducted by Steve Robb of Pittsburg State University. The analysis shows a positive present value for the project. An acceptable rate of return in excess of the cost of capital is projected and its cost-benefit analysis shows an acceptable ratio for the City of Marion to grant tax abatements and other financial incentives.
Robert Brooks, manager of Marion Assisted Living, says he hopes the bonds will be available this fall and construction can start immediately upon sale of the bonds.
Brooks also stated that the patio homes near the assisted living residence will start simultaneously with construction of the assisted living residence.
