Bailey Skiles joins Peace Corps

Bailey Skiles of Marion will leave in September for Morocco where she will serve as a Peace Corps volunteer for approximately two years. While in Morocco, she will work with local artisans on small business development projects.

She would appreciate receiving letters. Mail can be sent to Bailey Skiles, trainee, s/c Corps de la Paix, 1 rue Benzerte, Rabat, Morocco.

Skiles received degrees from the University of Kansas during commencement exercises in May.

She received a bachelor of science degree in business administration and a bachelor of arts in art history. Skiles completed the university honors program and graduated with highest distinction in both the school of business and college of liberal arts and sciences, signifying her ranking in the top three percent of spring 2004 graduates.

During her final year at KU, she worked at Fields Fine Art Gallery in Lawrence and for the university's office of study abroad, served as chairman of the sponsorship committee for Kansas Relays, and volunteered with a Lawrence handicap horseback riding program.

She is the daughter of Dr. Bruce and Belinda Skiles of Marion.
