Benjamin Haas

Benjamin G. "Ben" Haas, 56, rural Hope, died Dec. 28, 2002, at his home.

Born Dec. 13, 1946, at Herington, he was the son of Harvey H. Sr. and Betty R. (Holmes) Haas.

Services were held Friday at the Donahue Funeral Home Chapel, Herington, with the Rev. Lester Trusty officiating. Burial followed at the Sunset Hill Cemetery with full military honors.

Haas owned and operated Nunn's Upholstery Service for almost 20 years. He restored furniture and purchased and sold antiques. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Herington, served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant during the Vietnam War, graduated from Herington High School with the class of 1964, then attended Wichita Business College.

Haas is survived by his mother Betty Haas of Herington, a brother Nick Haas of Broken Arrow, Okla., and a sister Diana Fisher of Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his father Harvey Sr. on Nov. 8, 1982, and his brother Harvey Jr. on July 19, 1993.

The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
