Bennie Brooks
Bennie L. Brooks, 85, died Sept. 25, 2003, at Newton.
Born April 8, 1918, at Florence, he was the son of Luther and Susan (Kernard) Brooks.
He was a farmer and assembler for Hesston Corporation.
On Dec. 23, 1939, he married Rosetta M. Allen at Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bernard Brooks; a brother, Everett Brooks; and two sisters, Bernice Brooks and Viola Davis.
Survivors include his wife, Rosetta of Newton; a son, Floyd Brooks of Newton; a sister, Ruth Davis of Marion; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Peabody United Methodist Church with the Rev. Linda Willey officiating.
Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Peabody United Methodist Church and the American Diabetes Association.
