Bernie Friess
Bernard Justin Friess, 68, Topeka, died at his home March 26, 2003,
He was the father of Lynette R. Schmidt of Marion. Other survivors include his wife, Beverly Joy (Oswald) Friess; one son; five daughters; eight sisters; eight brothers; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Topeka, with military graveside rites in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
He was employed at a Topeka service station for 11 years prior to becoming a press operator for Hallmark Cards for 29 years. He retired in 1996, having moved to Topeka from Ransom in 1959.
