Betty Boileau
Betty June Boileau, 76, Marion, died Oct. 9, 2002, at Wichita.
Born July 8, 1926, at Newton, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Esther (Stubby) Scott. She was raised by her uncle and aunt, Glenn and Carrie Scott of Lost Springs.
She graduated from Lost Springs High School. She worked at Boeing in Wichita before becoming a nurse aide at Mercy Hospital in Parsons.
On Dec. 18, 1946, she married Lloyd Boileau at the Scott home in Lost Springs.
The couple lived on their farm in the St. Paul community. Three daughters and one son were born to them.
In 1954 they moved to White City. In 1965 she began working at Fort Riley in civil service and retired, as a supervisor, in January 1987.
She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed doing crochet and quilt work, and was an avid gardener.
Preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle Glenn and Carrie Scott; brother, Warren "Bub" Ewert; and her granddaughter, Kimberley Kay Wildman.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Lloyd Boileau of Marion; sister, Beulah Perrill of Lacey Springs, Ala.; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Philip Frazier of Wichita; daughter, Jan Wildman of Salina; son and daughter-in-law James and Sheryee Boileau of Plattsburg, Mo.; daughter, Joy Boileau of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion, with burial in Marion Cemetery.
Mike Connell was the vocalist with Shirley Bowers as organist. Casket bearers were Tony Schafers, Robert Kelly, Ira Penner, Don Hess, and Harvey Sanders.
A fund has been established in her name with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.
