Beyond the arc: Eustachy gone wild

Well, if you haven't heard already, Larry Eustachy, Iowa State head basketball coach is in hot water for some photographs that have surfaced of him holding a beer can and kissing a female student on the cheek.

Yes folks, this is the coach and not the irresponsible players we're so accustomed to hearing about, and maybe more important, a coach who is married.

Normally I don't jump on these bandwagons because you rarely know what is true and what is false. But for the sake of a bigger picture I want to address something Eustachy did not say regarding the alleged incident.

In a statement issued by Des Moines lawyer Jerry Crawford on behalf of the coach he said, "I am certainly aware of the role drinking has played in my behavior. I am addressing this matter. I want the people of Iowa and the fans of our program throughout the nation to know how sorry I am to have disappointed them with some poor decisions I have made."

Eustachy is human, and I understand that, but the question remains, what is his wife thinking?

There's nothing like a good jaunt in a college dormitory, with a beer and a broad in hand, to show your wife that you truly care — come on already.

Those late-night game-film sessions may have been a little more candid than Eustachy had wanted.

A Kansas State student has even come forward describing Eustachy's actions at a frat party in Manhattan after a KSU/ISU basketball game.

It appears to me that Eustachy likes to attend parties — college parties. So if the guy wants to do so, I say go for it, but do it without being a husband and a basketball coach, two positions that require a whole lot more responsibility than he appears to bear.

And as far as you college party fanatics are concerned, stay tuned as Snoop Doggy Dog brings you the best of "Eustachy Gone Wild!"
