he second annual KVC Motorcycle Ride for Kids will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday in Marion Central Park.
Motorcyclists, enthusiasts, and general public are invited to attend the benefit.
Proceeds from the fund-raiser will benefit KVC foster child program and raise public awareness of the need for foster parents.
According to Rose Vinduska of KVC, there is a special need for foster parents of older children.
A prize of $100 will be awarded for the best hand during the poker run. A raffle, barbecue, activities, and food vendors will be available in the park throughout the day.
An auction will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will include a variety of donated items.
Some of the auction items will include a Nascar jacket, 20-hour motorcycle training course from Butler Community College, dinner for four at Carlos O'Kelly's, leather vests, power tools, overnight stays at various motels, hotels, and bed and breakfasts, socket sets, 13" color television, and numerous gift certificates.
Proceeds will be used for child care expenses not covered in the agency's budget such as school supplies, musical instruments, services not covered by medical card, and other needs.
Vinduska said the first event was a "great success" and she hopes people will attend and participate this year.
