Bill Louis
Wilbur "Bill" Louis, 89, Florence farmer, died March 18, 2002.
Services were held Saturday afternoon at Florence United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Dyar officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.
Darcy McCoy was the vocalist and Helen Wenta the organist. Casket bearers were Dana McCoy, Art Neely, Terry Louis, Mike Louis, Mitch Louis, and Mark Louis.
Memorial funds have been established at the church and with the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
Born Oct. 25, 1912, near Florence, he was the son of Alexander and Anna (Blackburn) Louis.
He spent his entire lifetime in the Florence community. A farmer, he was a member of Kansas Farm Bureau. He also was a member of Florence United Methodist Church.
On April 17, 1937, he was married to Jean Williams at Sedgwick. The couple had two children, Don and Carol.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Jean, of Florence; son, Don, Denton, Texas; daughter, Carol Kutz, El Dorado; seven grandchildren; and nine great-granchchildren.
