Tom and Dee Duggan and Gary Spohn attended a dinner meeting of the Durham Lions Club Monday evening. This was the Durham Lions' last meeting, as the club is disbanding.
Jim and Mary Clemmer enjoyed dinner out Tuesday with Dr. Jim Barnett in Emporia. They also went to a specialist, Dr. Dorsey, where by serendipity they met several relatives, Wayne and Jo Anne Fowler, Susan Grover, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Van Gundy.
Steve Spohn and Sheri Kersh of Hope, Terry and Linda Schmidt of Phoenix, Ariz., Gary and Carole Spohn, and Georgia Spohn enjoyed dinner at the café Tuesday.
Theresa Jirak, Zach, Kalynn, Andrew, Anna, and Katherine are here visiting relatives. While Theresa was helping her parents, Edmund and Mary Lou Kroupa, the youngsters stayed with Steve and Vickie Jirak and Elias. In celebration of Zach's birthday they enjoyed dinner at the café Wednesday. Others present were Margaret Jirak, Mary Jirak, Ron and Rose Jirak, and Teresa Tajchman.
Gary and Carole Spohn and Georgia Spohn attended a potluck supper Sunday evening at the Christian church in Marion. The occasion was in honor of former members, Terry and Linda Schmidt, who were visiting from Arizona.
Terry and Cindy Vinduska of Marion were hosts for a barbecue supper Sunday evening at their home as a belated birthday celebration for their daughter, Melissa Stuchlik. Other guests were Daniel Stuchlik, Tanner and Allie, Ruby Vinduska, Monte and Sarah Stuchlik, Ross and Megan Stuchlik, and Leona Kleiber.
Tom and Dee Duggan attended an appreciation dinner after mass Sunday in honor of Father Mark Weseley, who was celebrating 15 years in the priesthood.
Greg Sklenar of Wichita was a weekend guest of his mother, Lois Sklenar. Valerie Hampton of Hillsboro joined them Sunday.
Ross Schrag of Lindsborg spent a few days with his grandparents, Gus and Mildred Hamm and attended vacation Bible school at the Durham Baptist church. Dave and Sharon Schrag, Payden and Lane came Saturday to take him home.
Lucille Kerbs visited Connie Thompson, Allison and Taylor of Abilene Saturday. They were joined by a young friend of Taylor's for dinner out.
Kaylee Hall of Herington was a Friday overnight guest of Tom and Dee Duggan.
Jennifer Jay and Cody were honored with a baby shower Friday evening in the St. John's Lutheran Church basement. Hostesses were Phyllis Mueller, Betty Mueller, Ophelia Jacobson, Bev Reid, and Jody and Dani Heath. The room was decorated with a variety of baby toys. Refreshments were served.
Tom and Dee Duggan joined members of the Red Hat Society and others for an outing to Wichita Thursday to see "Church Basement Ladies" at the Crown Uptown Theater. Other members of the Shady Ladies Red Hatters attending were Joyce Cox of Abilene, Ramona Goracke and Betty Schlesener of Hope, Phyllis Allen, Barbara Askew, Rose Mary Deines, Rhea Kolling, and Karolyn Schlesener of Herington. Some Junction City Red Hatters also went.
