Boger, Tajchman are wed

Kristina Lynn Boger and Justin David Tajchman of St. Louis, Mo., were united in marriage Feb. 5, 2005, in the Gazebo Garden of Wyndam Rose Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Parents of the bride are Lloyd and Gerry Boger of Great Bend. Grandparents are Marcus and Edna Boger of Great Bend and the late John Howard and Louise Myers.

Parents of the groom are David and Connie Tajchman of Wichita. Grandparents are Vilma Kroll of Wichita and the late Herman Kroll and the late Frank and Angela Tajchman and Herbert Pope.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a white satin Michaelangelo gown trimmed with pearls and lace and featuring a chapel-length train. A fingertip veil fell from a crystal tiara. She carried a cascading bouquet of tropical flowers and wore her grandmother's broach.

Renee Owen of Great Bend, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Crystal Keiser of Wichita, sister of the groom, Johna Forbeck of Warner Robins, Ga., Megan Koester Bray of Olathe, and Laura Miller of Baltimore, Md.

Best men were Brian Long and Adam Pankratz of Wichita. Groomsmen were Greg Standifer and Braden McCurdy of Wichita and Eric Alders of Overland Park.

Kailee Keiser of Wichita, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Justin Owen of Great Bend, nephew of the bride, was honorary ring bearer.

Craig Owen of Great Bend, brother-in-law of the bride, was usher.

Following the saxophone solo, Virginia Albert of Covington, Okla., read a reading by Chaplain Sharlene Micelli of Wichita. Both are aunts of the groom.

Guests gathered on the west lawn of the resort for an oceanfront cocktail reception. Steel Drum Percussionists provided musical entertainment. Dinner followed at Three Palms Restaurant.

After an extended honeymoon in Megril, Jamaica, the couple welcomed family and friends at Wichita Boathouse for a dinner reception and dance.

Pianist Pattie Cessna of Wichita provided special music. Reception hosts and attendants were Charisse Hutton, Mindy Brewer, and Kim Denny, cousins of the groom, Bonnie and Dakin Cramer, Vincent and Sharlene Micelli, Brenda and Keith Lesher, Gerald and Arba Pope, Carmelita Simon, and Judy Smith, all aunts and uncles of the groom, and Blerina Boci and Mandy Mason.

The bride is a graduate of Hoisington High School, Barton County Community College, and Wichita State University. She has a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering.

The groom is a graduate of Wichita South High School and Wichita State University. He has a bachelor of science degree in computer engineering.

The bride and groom are both employed at Boeing in integrated defense systems and are pursing master's degrees in international affairs at Washington University in St. Louis.

Church women celebrate World Day of Prayer

Women from five churches met Friday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church to celebrate World Day of Prayer, sponsored by Church Women United.

The program, "Let Our Light Shine" written by the women of Poland, was presented by Ruth Viets.

Those attending were Janet Bryant, Ann Carr, Jan Helmer, Rowena Olsen, Della Coe, Jane Vajnar, Eula Colle, Ellen Darrow, Joyce Hett, and Estelle McCarty, with Shirley Bowers as pianist. Mary Ford and Erna Mae Yeagley acted as co-hostesses.

After the program, guests were treated to Polish mazueka made by Henrietta Waner.
