David and Shirley Bowers accompanied Kevin and Bev Jennison to Bryant, Ind., Friday to visit Cheryl Jennison, who is appearing in "Swing Time" at Bear Creek Farms. En route they visited covered bridge country and Amish farms. Saturday and Sunday were spent with Cheryl, watching three shows, and celebrating David's 80th birthday and Cheryl's birthday. Driving back to Kansas on Monday, they stopped in Indianapolis to see the Indy 500 Speedway and in Vandalia, Ill., the first state capital. It also was interesting finding a town named Collett, Ind.
Margie and John Talbott of Halstead brought a large bouquet of flowers to Dorothy Hayen on Tuesday and took Dorothy and John to Florence to lunch. Following lunch, they visited the Florence cemetery and looked up the graves of their great-grandmother, who is buried there. Brent and Paula Hayen visited the Hayen farm on Monday following the Memorial Day services at Grant Township Cemetery.
Doug and Janelle Paden, Matthew, Abigail, and Jonathan and Mary Beth Bowers, Rhonny and Luke brought birthday cake and ice cream to the home of David and Shirley Bowers Tuesday evening to celebrate David's birthday.
