Brian Warnica

Brian Gene Warnica, 42, a resident of rural Herington, died July 24, 2002 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born Jan. 10, 1960, in Abilene, the son of Gene C. Warnica and Judy A. (Connett) Fells.

He graduated from Abilene High School with the class of 1979.

He worked at a grocery store in Herington, the rock quarry north of Woodbine, and repaired lawn mowers in Council Grove.

He was married to Tammy Jouanne Shipman in Abilene on Aug. 26, 1994. They lived in rural Herington, and he was self-employed with woodworking and crafts.

Survivors include his wife Tammy of the home; his parents Gene and Dee Warnica of Marion, Judy and Pete Fells of rural Herington; daughter, Jouanna Star Warnica of the home; stepsisters Gerry Vinduska of Pilsen; brother Brad Warnica of Woodbine; half brother Greg Warnica of Hillsboro; stepbrother Ron Ehrlich of Omaha, Neb.; and his grandmother Anna Fells of rural Herington.

Visitation was held Saturday morning at the Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman. The family held a private inurnment of the ashes.

Memorials may be given to the Brian Warnica Memorial Fund.
