Brosemer killed in vehicle accident
James H. Brosemer, a prominent Florence business man, died Monday in a tragic two-vehicle accident on U.S.-50.
Brosemer, 78, was traveling east on U.S.-50 at 3:20 p.m., approximately eight miles east of Florence in Chase County, when the 1998 Ford pickup he was driving went left of center, causing a tractor-trailer to swerve onto the shoulder. Brosemer's vehicle struck the left side of the semi. Brosemer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, Lincoln E. Spurlin, 58, of Chicago, Ill., was not injured.
Owner of Brosemer Land Surveying, Brosemer was well-known in the Marion County area and throughout the state as a land surveyor.
