Mary Deane Peterson hosted a birthday celebration for Wendell Peterson Feb. 8 at their home. Supper and evening guests were Judy Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Bret Beye, Samantha, Elizabeth, Cuyler, and Chelsea of Herington, Shelly Crowder, Marvin Peterson, Scott and Josie of Lincolnville, Selena Seifert of Lost Springs, Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Peterson, Rolland and Roger Peterson.
Charles and Darlene Gutsch attended a supper Feb. 7 at the Masonic Temple, hosted by OES Chapter 96, Herington. Seventeen members were present.
Tate, Toby, Sesely, and Sydney Omli of Brookville were guests from Friday to Sunday evening of Dan and Linda Peterson. The Petersons took them back to Brookville on Sunday.
Harry Schump of Herington was a Wednesday dinner guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Charles Gutsch attended an invitational basketball tournament Saturday at Marion. Justin Deines of Ramona was one of the players.
Janice Akin of Los Angeles, Calif., was a guest from Wednesday to Monday of Irvin and Audine Strand. She is a niece of Irvin. Janice also visited with Renata Johnson of Herington.
Burdette and Maureen Peterson and Chelsea and Cuyler Beye of Herington were Sunday afternoon guests of Mary Deane and Wendell Peterson.
Danny Crabtree of Wagoner, Okla., was a Tuesday afternoon guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Forrest and Marie Anderson were Friday evening dinner guests of Gary and Karen Korte at Emporia.
Earl and Lois Peterson and Marilyn Peterson attended the funeral Thursday of Bill Miller at Topeka.
Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove spent from Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg. They took him home on Sunday and were supper guests of Mike and Jane Rickenbrode and Morgan at Council Grove. Additional supper guests were Savannah and Ethan Forsberg.
Ed Jones of Osborne was a guest Saturday morning of Mary Deane and Wendell Peterson.
Linda Peterson and her grandchildren attended the invitational basketball tournament Saturday at Marion. Toby Omli played on the Brookville team.
Charles and Arlene Carlson were Saturday afternoon guests of Jean and Kent Brunner at Lost Springs. Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan also were guests.
Jennifer Kassebaum was a Wednesday morning visitor of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.
World Day of Prayer will be held at 7 p.m. March 4 at Hebron Lutheran Church. The country represented this year is Poland with the theme being "Let Your Light Shine." This is a joint venture between the host church and Burdick United Methodist Church.
Keith and Diane Miller were Friday evening and overnight guests of Earl and Lois Peterson. They were on their way home to Grand Junction, Colo., having been at Topeka for the funeral of Keith's father, Bill Miller. Those visiting Keith and Diane Friday evening were Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Phil and Jamie Peterson, Adriane Peterson, and Dana Miller.
Nanette Forsberg, Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin, and Joe Forsberg of Salina were Saturday visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Lee and Elinor Remy attended the state Scholar's Bowl competition Saturday at Centre High School. Tad Remy was on a participating team.
A good crowd attended the benefit soup and pie fund-raiser for Richard Wall Sunday at Burdick United Methodist Church. A lively and profitable auction of Valentine and baked items was held after lunch. Pastor Rick Branson of Marion served as auctioneer and his wife, Khrista assisted him.
John Gutsch of Lincolnville was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Charles and Darlene Gutsch.
Charles and Mona Kniebel of White City and Forrest and Marie Anderson enjoyed dinner together Sunday at Junction City in celebration of Charles' birthday.
Ethan Forsberg and Wade Rickenbrode were Sunday dinner guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Perry Gutsch, Anthony and Whitney of Herington were Sunday evening visitors of Charles and Darlene Gutsch. The grandkids brought cards and gifts.
Our congratulations go to Justin Garrard and Brianne Stahlecker who were crowned winter homecoming king and queen at Centre High School's basketball game Friday evening with St. Xavier.
Our sympathy is extended to Laverna Miller and family at the loss of Harry Miller. His funeral was held Saturday at Hebron Lutheran Church.
Gene and Jean Ecklund were Wednesday evening visitors of Irvin and Audine Strand and their guest, Janice Akin after Ash Wednesday services.
