Marvin Peterson and Shelly Crowder of Lincolnville took Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson Friday to Manhattan.

Dean Forsberg was a Monday dinner guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Mrs. John Gerry was a Saturday afternoon visitor of Neva Peterson.

Corlberg-Smith #147 American Legion and Auxiliary met Tuesday evening. It was a covered dish dinner in honor of the Legion's 84th birthday. Eleven Legion members, seven auxiliary members, and one guest were present. Legion commander Charles Gutsch presented 60-year certificates to Harvey Hawkinson and Harold Hovander. Paul Anderson will be given his certificate and one will be mailed to Lenord Sill of Mesa, Ariz. Auxiliary president Bonnie Sill presented a 25-year pin to Wanda Fischer and one will be presented to Marion Blasenhauer of Herington. Ice cream and cake were served at the close of the meeting.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville was a Wednesday evening supper guest of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

Morgan Rickenbrode of Council Grove was a Friday overnight and Saturday guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg. They took her home Saturday evening.

Remember the senior citizen meeting at 7:30 p.m. March 17 at Burdick United Methodist Church. The program will be presented by Bill and Jennifer Kassebaum. Bring light snacks for refreshments.

Lorraine Gerry was a Saturday evening caller of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul James of Emporia were Saturday morning visitors of Neva Peterson. Others visiting were Ruth Riggin and Lois Peterson.

Earl and Evelyn Forsberg's Friday evening visitors were Earl and Ruth Schump and Harry Schump of Herington.

Sara Denly and Ben of Winfield and Bill Peterson of Herington were Thursday evening supper guests of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

A number of people from the Burdick area attended the Chizek benefit at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincolnville.

Linda Carlson hosted a supper Friday evening in honor of Mike Carlson's birthday. Attending were Mike Carlson, Jonnie and Cicely Karst and Rylee of Wichita, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan, Nolan and Melissa Brunner, Kenneth and Alice Peterson of Herington, Roger and Rolland Peterson, and Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville spent Saturday overnight and Sunday with Mary Deane and Wendell Peterson.

Dinner guests Saturday of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Sabrina and Marcus Dunkin, Savannah Forsberg, and Morgan Rickenbrode of Council Grove.

Katie Carlson participated in a powerlifting meet Saturday at Council Grove. She won a first place medal overall in powerweight class.

Forrest and Marie Anderson visited Friday afternoon with Goldie Steeley at Sterling House in Salina.

Good Friday services will be at 7 p.m. March 25 at Burdick United Methodist Church. The film "The Passion of The Christ" will be shown. The public is invited.

Joe Forsberg of Salina was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg and Harry Schump of Herington was a Sunday supper guest.

Visitors Sunday evening of Forrest and Marie Anderson were Earl and Marcella Hermstein of Herington and Charles and Mona Kniebel of White City.

Maureen Peterson, Shae and Hunter Schrader of Wichita spent Saturday evening visiting with Mary Deane and Wendell Peterson.

Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Sunday afternoon at the home of Kent and Jean Brunner of Lost Springs. Other guests were Ann Koch, Jonnie and Cicely Karst and Rylee of Wichita, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan, and Melissa and Nolan Brunner of Herington.

Harold Diepenbrock of Herington was a Friday afternoon visitor of Lee and Elinor Remy.

Dick and Yvonne Thunstrom of Minneapolis, Minn., were Thursday afternoon and supper guests of Darrell and Jewell Swinney. Darrell and Dick were Army friends and had been stationed in Korea together. They were on their way to Phoenix, Ariz., to spend some time.

Morris County Extension is sponsoring the program "Walk Across Kansas" — a fitness challenge. The program is based on teams consisting of six, a captain and five members, who walk 423 miles, approximately the width of Kansas from March 13 to May 7. We have four teams in the Burdick area. They are 4K2P with Marilyn Peterson as captain and members Jim Peterson, Bill, Jennifer, Theo, and Nellie Kassebaum; Speed Demons, Josie Peterson, captain, and Kirsten Johnson, Connie Johnson, Marvin Peterson, Shelly Crowder, and Tana Riffel, members; Hebron Bunch, Alona Hedstrom, captain, and Hallie Novak, Nancy Hanson, Gloria Martin, Lorraine Gerry, and Nanette Forsberg, members; and BW's Girls, Bruce Hedstron, captain, and Carol Riffel, Jewell Swinney, Janis Peterson, Maureen Peterson, and Brenda Swinney, members. During the eight weeks we will monitor their progress and cheer them on.

Ruth Riggin hosted card club Sunday evening at the Golden Age Party Room. Attending were Lee and Elinor Remy, Earl and Lois Peterson, Harold and Joyce Roever, Bonnie Sill, Vic and Helen Brunner, and Kenneth and Alice Peterson of Herington.
