Burdick UMW hosted its annual spring tea guest night Wednesday evening at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Tables were decorated with multi-colored streamers, pots of pansies, and old photographs. A meal was served to 70 people. After the meal, Susan Carlson, UMW president, welcomed everyone and read a poem that her grandmother had given her, "Why the Dog's Nose is Cold." Diana Jost introduced the speaker, Peggy Goertzen of Hillsboro. Her subject was "History of Photography." She had lots of photographs to show the different types of pictures and the occasions for which they were taken. Churches represented were Methodist churches from Burdick, Valley and Eastmoor of Marion, Lincolnville, Herington, and Elmdale and Lutheran churches from Burdick, Lincolnville, Herington, and Ramona. There also were others present.
Diana Jost was a Tuesday afternoon visitor of Neva Peterson.
Dean Forsberg and Harry Schump of Herington were Tuesday dinner and afternoon guests of Evelyn Forsberg.
Gayla Deines was a guest of her mother, Darlene Gutsch at the Burdick UMW spring tea Wednesday evening. Gayla brought her mother some potted geraniums and new photos of her grandchildren.
Dean Forsberg was a Thursday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.
Marie Anderson visited Ollie Peterson at the assisted living center at Herington hospital this week.
Veronica Remmers of Lincolnville and Clairborne Schmidt of Ramona were Friday overnight guests at the home of Rick and Angela Basore and family for a slumber party.
Marie Anderson attended the spring tea Wednesday evening.
Mary Deane Peterson was a Friday afternoon visitor of Darlene Gutsch. She brought her a loaf of rye bread.
Glenn Carlson was a Friday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Afternoon visitors were Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin, Logan and Konner of Rose Hill.
Marie Anderson attended several meetings this week at her church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herington. On Monday morning there was a planning committee meeting for the 100-year celebration of the church. She attended her circle meeting Wednesday afternoon and the Ladies Aid meeting Thursday.
Evelyn Forsberg was a Sunday dinner and afternoon guest of Harry Schump at Herington.
Perry Gutsch and Anthony of Herington were Saturday afternoon visitors of Darlene Gutsch. They mowed her yard and lawn.
Mary Deane Peterson spent Saturday with Burdette and Maureen Peterson and had lunch with them. In the early evening, she accompanied them to the junior-senior banquet promenade at Centre High School.
Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove were Saturday dinner guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Other afternoon visitors were Sabrina Dunkin, Logan and Konner, Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Ethan, Savannah Forsberg of Emporia, and Willie Hicks. Harry Schump also was a visitor and he mowed Evelyn's yard.
