Forrest Anderson was released from a Topeka hospital after his hip surgery and arrived home to recuperate late Friday afternoon. Visiting Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were Josie Peterson, Leona Anderson, Jay Brown, Barbara and George Adams, Earl and Lois Peterson, and Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia who did some mowing for them.

C.J. and Pat Baker of Lawrence were July 28-29 guests of Jack and Nancy Riggin. They visited with Neva Peterson during the weekend.

Gayla Deines took Darlene Gutsch and Shelby Deines to appointments at Salina Monday. They ate lunch out together and did some shopping in the afternoon.

Morgan Rickenbrode and Savannah Forsberg were Monday dinner guests of Evelyn Forsberg. Savannah and Ethan Forsberg and Morgan Rickenbrode were Tuesday dinner guests.

Neva Joyce Fischer of Wichita and Bill Gutsch of Council Grove were Wednesday afternoon visitors of Darlene Gutsch. Neva and Bill had lunch together at the Sale Barn Café at Herington and were going to tour relatives' farmsteads south of Burdick.

Pastor Rick Branson of Marion was a Friday afternoon visitor of Darlene Gutsch.

Mike and Jane Rickenbrode and Wade of Council Grove were Wednesday evening visitors of Evelyn Forsberg. Morgan Rickenbrode returned home with them.

Gayla Deines, Shelby and Justin and Dustin Burnett were Saturday afternoon visitors of Darlene Gutsch. They made quick work of her mowing, edging, and trimming and watering flowers.

Cooper Tindle, son of Jake and Kellie Tindle of Hutchinson was a Saturday and Sunday guest of his grandparents, Jack and Nancy Riggin while his parents and older sister, Hannah were vacationing in Colorado.

Joe Forsberg of Salina was a Friday morning visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. He and Ethan Forsberg were noon lunch guests of Evelyn.

Nancy Riggin and Cooper Tindle were Saturday afternoon visitors of Neva Peterson and Ruth Riggin.

Harry Schump of Herington was a Thursday afternoon and evening visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were Wednesday evening visitors of Clint and Diana Jost.

Ruth Riggin accompanied Dan and Linda Peterson to the Ramona Café Sunday noon for dinner. They visited Warren and Paula Fike later. Paula is recuperating at home from recent open heart surgery.

Josie Peterson of Lincolnville was a Tuesday through Friday guest of Mary Deane Peterson.

Rick Schroer and Donna Schroer of Wichita came Monday and took Ruth Riggin to Wamego where they all visited her son, Gary Zinn. They had a good visit and a great time playing cards.

Saturday lunch guests of Mary Deane Peterson were Donlie Tanner and Wanda Hughes of Wichita.

Harry Schump and Joe Forsberg were Saturday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg and mowed her yard. Harry was a Sunday dinner guest.

Lisa Beye, Cuyler and Chelsea of Herington and Burdette and Maureen Peterson were Sunday evening guests of Mary Deane Peterson.

Darlene Gutsch attended the pancake feed at the Herington Senior Center Saturday noon.

Please keep Pastor John Gerry and Lorraine in your prayers and concern as they continue to face their health issues. Pastor John will be admitted to the hospital Monday and Lorraine is recuperating at home from her broken leg.

Naomi Nelson hopes to return home Tuesday to finish recuperating from her knee surgery. Remember her at home.

Darrell and Jewel Swinney accompanied Kenny and Kerri Swinney of Fredonia on an airline flight to California for a vacation July 15-21.While there, they visited San Francisco, the Napa Valley area, coastal highway, and many other points of interest. They reported beautiful weather and a wonderful vacation.

Harry Schump of Herington treated Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan and Evelyn Forsberg to dinner Tuesday noon at the Saddle Rock Café at Council Grove. They were on their way back from Emporia where Evelyn had eye surgery.

Phillip Hageberg of Topeka was a guest of his grandparents, Gary and Marilyn Hageberg from Thursday through Monday morning. Trevor Hageberg was a visitor of Gary and Marilyn and their houseguest two evenings and Mike and Denise also were evening visitors.

Perry Gutsch of Herington was a late Friday afternoon visitor of Darlene Gutsch.

Ashlynn Hageberg of Herington stayed with Marilyn Hageberg this week during the day while her mother, Janine Hageberg is working at the Burdick Meat Market.

Jenny Schrader, Shae and Hunter of Wichita spent Tuesday afternoon with Mary Deane Peterson.

Tuesday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg were Harry Schump and Dean and Nanette Forsberg and Savannah.

Jack Riggin was a Saturday afternoon visitor of Neva Peterson.

Thursday evening visitors of Burdette and Maureen Peterson were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tanner of Wichita.

Thursday morning visitors of Evelyn Forsberg were Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin and Logan of Rose Hill. They had lunch together. Mary Deane Peterson was an evening visitor.

Candice Denault of Salina was a Sunday afternoon visitor of Neva Peterson.

A 99th birthday party was held for Oliver Peterson Sunday afternoon at the hospital meeting room. Relatives and friends attending were the honored guest, Oliver, Dick and Margaret Peterson of Springfield, Mo., Gene and Marie Thorton and Steve Thorton of Abilene, Isla Rose Nelson of Lindsborg, Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody, Stanley and Joyce Nelson of Marysville, Shelly Peterson of Lincolnville, Bill and Judy Peterson and Lisa Beye of Herington, Jamie Dalke, Reagan and Tyler of Hillsboro, and Gloria Martin, Earl and Lois Peterson, Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Phil Peterson, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Mary Deane Peterson, Ruth Riggin, and Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Angela Basore and Beka were Monday evening visitors of Darlene Gutsch.

Burdick UMW met July 18 at the Burdick UM fellowship hall. Eleven members were present. Devotions were given by Khrista Branson. The lesson was given by Kiki Krause. Refreshments were served by Marilyn Hageberg.

Dean Forsberg and Savannah were Tuesday dinner guests of Evelyn Forsberg.

Hebron Lutheran WELCA met July 18 at the home of Dollye Novak at Lost Springs. Pastor John Gerry was the lesson leader. Those attending were Hallie Novak, Alona Hedstrom, Carol Miller, Gloria Martin, and Nancy Hanson.

Perry Gutsch, Anthony and Whitney of Herington were Sunday morning visitors of Darlene Gutsch. They accompanied her to Burdick United Methodist Church services. Gene and Doris Winkler of Marion were Sunday afternoon visitors. They had been out for a ride on their motorcycle.

Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove was a guest of his grandmother, Evelyn Forsberg, from Wednesday evening through Friday morning.

Evelyn Peterson attended a second birthday party for Logan Dunkin Saturday evening at the home of Marcus and Sabrina Dunkin at Rose Hill.

Forrest and Marie Anderson and Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia attended the Maurine Johnson sale at Lindsborg Saturday. After the sale, the following had dinner together: Maurine Johnson of Lindsborg, Doug and Janet Butler of Wilmore, Ky., Dr. Bruce and Val Johnson of Salina, Forrest and Marie Anderson of Burdick, and Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia.

Check out the awesome display of hearty white hibiscus that are blooming in the Gary and Marilyn Hageberg yard. There are about 50 blooms and some appear to be as big as plates.
