Burdick: Aluminum cans requested for Relay for Life

Burdick Relay for Life is collecting aluminum cans. There is a receptacle behind Burdick United Methodist Church. The proceeds will be given to the American Cancer Society. The last pickup date is Saturday.
Ruth Riggin attended a party Saturday afternoon at Salina at the home of Corey Sader. They celebrated Brylee Sader's third birthday and Megan Bielefeld's eighth. Guests were Chris and Tisha Bielefeld and Seth of Peabody, Helen Sader of Herington, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Scherbring, Brian Sader, Lyle and Julie Sader, Corey Sader and Trevin, and the honored guests.
Charles and Darlene Gutsch had a business appointment Thursday morning at McPherson. They visited Ray and Linda Gottstein. Other visitors at the Gottstein home were Rosie Gutsch of McPherson and her daughter, Rita Martin and granddaughter, Shana of Silverthorne, Colo. Charles and Darlene and Linda Gottstein had lunch together later in the afternoon.
Supper guests Tuesday of Kenny and Alice Peterson at Herington were Charles and Arlene Carlson and LaVerna Miller.
Logan Dunkin of Herington stayed Tuesday and Wednesday with Evelyn Forsberg. Other Tuesday afternoon visitors were Sabrina Dunkin and Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Ethan and Savannah.
Lois Peterson entertained with a birthday supper Thursday evening for Earl Peterson. Guests were Ollie Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Ruth Riggin.
Remember Burdick senior citizens potluck dinner and meeting at noon Friday. Meat will be furnished. Centre Elementary School music department will have the 1 p.m. program.
Ethan Forsberg was a Wednesday evening visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.
Mary Deane Peterson accompanied Marvin Peterson of Lincolnville to a track meet Thursday at Council Grove to watch her granddaughter, Josie Peterson.
Evelyn Forsberg attended a Lenten luncheon Thursday at the Congregational church at Council Grove.
Charles Gutsch attended a baseball tournament Saturday afternoon at Hillsboro. His grandson, Justin Deines and Ramona and Cody Johnson play for the Hillsboro Junior Trojans.
Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Sunday afternoon with Jean Brunner.
A birthday party for Earl Peterson was held Sunday noon at Kingfisher Steakhouse and Lounge at Marion. Celebrating with Earl were his wife, Lois, Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Phil and Jamie Peterson, Ollie Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Jamie Dalke, Tyler and Regan of Hillsboro.
Joe Forsberg of Salina and Dean Forsberg and Ethan were Saturday evening visitors of Evelyn Forsberg.
Mary Deane Peterson took Samantha Beye and Dylan Wilson of Herington Friday to Emporia to audition for the Emporia State University choir.
Earl and Lois Peterson, Ollie Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Rolland Peterson visited Sunday afternoon with Isla Rose Nelson at her home at Lindsborg. Isla had surgery Monday for a broken wrist. She is recuperating at home with the help of her daughter, Donna Hanneman of Peabody.
Mary Deane Peterson visited Sunday afternoon with Naomi Nelson and Tom Nelson.
Candice Denault of Salina visited Sunday afternoon with Neva Peterson. She also helped with some chores.
Walter and Katherine Otte took Earl and Lois Peterson out for supper Saturday evening at the American Legion at Council Grove to celebrate Earl's birthday.
