Burdick: Basores host party

Rick and Angela Basore and family hosted a "back to school party" Aug. 17 at their home. Guests were P.J. Potocnik, Kyler and Alexia Ammon, Carrie Carlson, Austin Pierce, Ellie and Shelby Makovec, Tabitha Rose, Genesus Rudolph, Mickela and Spencer Antoszyk, Theo and Nellie Kassebaum, Jesse Kopietz, Kody Johnson, Oaklin and Tia Jenkins, Dakota Spooner, Anna Weber, Abigail Svoboda, Chrissa and Brenna Shields, and Kyler Chapman. Outdoor games were played and lots of food was enjoyed by the guests.
Burdick UMW met Aug. 15 at the Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall with nine members present. Devotions were given by Linda Peterson. The lesson, "Shine, Shine, Shine," was presented by Kiki Krause. Refreshments were served by Linda Peterson. The next meeting will be Sept. 19.
Tuesday morning visitors of Evelyn Forsberg were Dean Forsberg, Savannah and Ethan. Evelyn was a Tuesday afternoon visitor of Harry Schump at Herington.
Perry Gutsch was a Tuesday noon visitor of Darlene Gutsch and Gayla Deines visited Tuesday evening.
Ethan Forsberg was a Wednesday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Harry Schump was a Wednesday supper guest.
The Burdick United Methodist Church sponsored a community homemade ice cream social Aug. 12 at the fellowship hall. A large crowd was present to enjoy the fun, fellowship, and food. Homemade ice cream, cake, and drinks were served to the crowd.
Mr. and Mrs. John Patterson of Pittsburg were Friday afternoon visitors of Neva Peterson. They were friends of Mark Peterson.
Gayla Deines, Perry Gutsch, and Darlene Gutsch were in Council Grove Friday on business. They had lunch together at the Saddle Rock Café.
Candice Denault of Salina was a Thursday afternoon visitor of Neva Peterson.
Cuyler Cowart spent Tuesday night and Wednesday with Mary Deane Peterson.
Forrest and Marie Anderson called on Naomi Nelson and Tom Nelson late Monday afternoon.
Evelyn Forsberg had lunch Friday noon with Jane Rickenbrode at her home at Council Grove.
Ed and Ruth Ann Jones were Friday afternoon visitors of Mary Deane Peterson and Jean Herod.
Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia were Friday visitors of Forrest and Marie Anderson. Gary did some chores for them while he was there.
Saturday luncheon guests of Mary Deane Peterson at Al's Café, Lost Springs, were Jenny Schrader, Shae and Hunter of Wichita, Lisa Beye, Elizabeth, Cuyler, Chelsea, and Shae Granzow, Herington.
Jean Brunner, Jill Brunner and Tucker, and Mike and Linda Carlson were Sunday evening visitors of Charles and Arlene Carlson.
Harry Schum was a Saturday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg. Sabrina Dunkin and Logan of Rose Hill were Saturday evening visitors.
Josie Peterson of Lincolnville spent Saturday night and Sunday with Mary Deane Peterson. Other callers were Bill Peterson of Herington and Burdette and Maureen Peterson.
Charles and Mona Kniebel of White City were Sunday evening visitors of Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Marie Thorton of Abilene, Earl and Lois Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Rolland Peterson went to Olathe Sunday to visit Mitch and Wanda Peterson, Morgan, Vanessa, Hannah, and Grant and Adrianne Peterson. They attended church with them.
