Burdick church to host fund-raiser

There will be a fund-raiser for Jesse Smith at the Burdick United Methodist Church Nov. 16, starting at 5:30 p.m., with a hog roast. Money donated will be used to help pay his medical expenses.
Pancakes, sausages, and eggs for hunters and others will be served at the Legion hall in Burdick on Saturday from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Pay is by donation.
Senior Citizens will meet Nov. 15 for a covered dish luncheon at noon. Meat will be furnished. The Morris County health nurse will be there to give flu shots and check blood pressure.
Earl and Evelyn Forsberg visited with Elmer and Mae Forsberg at Junction City on Wednesday. Other guests were Bill and Barbara Forsberg and Laurie Forsberg of Atchison. All enjoyed lunch together at the Sirloin Stockade. Earl and Evelyn visited Charlene McRae in Council Grove Thursday afternoon.
Angie Nelson of Hillsboro was a Thursday dinner guest of Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson.
Teresa Hageberg and Phillip of Topeka spent from Friday evening through Saturday with Gary and Marilyn Hageberg.
Friday evening visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove. Wade and Morgan spent the night. Wade and Ethan Forsberg were Saturday dinner guests of the Forsbergs.
Karin Nelson and Linnea Nelson visited Dorothy Garanson on Saturday in rural Dwight.
Gary and Marilyn Hageberg visited Darrell and Carol Dutton in Manhattan Sunday afternoon.
Sunday dinner guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Wade Rickenbrode and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan.
Forrest and Marie Anderson accompanied Gary and Karen Korte and family to Springfield, Mo., on Saturday. They attended a swim meet with the Southeast Missouri State University and the Western Illinois University on the Southwest Missouri State campus. Erik Korte is captain of the SMSU team, and participated in the meet. Southwest Missouri State University won the meet.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan were Sunday evening supper guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg and Wade returned home after spending the weekend with his grandparents.
