Burdick: Earl and Evelyn Forsberg celebrate birthdays

Visiting Earl and Evelyn Forsberg Thursday evening to help Evelyn celebrate her birthday were Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Savannah and Ethan, Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove, and Sabrina Dunkin and Logan of Herington.

Earl and Evelyn Forsberg's Friday evening guests were Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove, Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Savannah and Ethan, Joe Forsberg of Salina, Charlotte Gentet of Woodbine, and Marvin Barlow. All helped Earl celebrate his birthday.

Dean Forsberg was a Thursday dinner guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Burdick will have a work day Saturday to finalize plans for Labor Day.

Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson spent Saturday evening visiting Burdette and Maureen Peterson and their grandson Rigo Salazar of Wichita who was spending the weekend with them.

A community bridal shower for Ashton Kerbs, bride-elect of Jesse Smith will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at Burdick United Methodist Church fellowship hall. Everyone is invited.

Lorene Smith's visitors Tuesday were her niece Elaine Patton of Topeka, sisters-in-law, Naomi Walker of Topeka, Ruth Trapp of Kansas City, Mo., and Elsie Schultz of San Diego, Calif.

Scotchy Harkness of Delavan was a Friday afternoon visitor of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Erris Irby of Lyndon was a Monday overnight and Tuesday guest of Earl and Lois Peterson. She attended the memorial service at Lincolnville Cemetery for Sylvia (Sill) Burns with Earl and Lois. She was Sylvia's classmate.

Tentative plans are being made for a Burdick senior citizens meeting at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 at Burdick UM Church fellowship hall. Note the change of date. A program will be presented on Medicare, Part D — Prescription Drugs. See next week's news for more details.

Sharlee (Leffler) Mason of Silver Lake and Dolores Fisher were Friday evening visitors of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

Wade and Morgan Rickenbrode of Council Grove were Friday overnight guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.

Darlene Gutsch went to Wichita Tuesday morning for a short visit with her sister, Dorothy Rindt. She returned home Thursday afternoon.

Milan Harkness of Delavan was a Saturday morning visitor of Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson.

Keith and Dianne Miller of Grand Junction, Colo., came this past weekend for a visit with Earl and Lois Peterson. They left Wednesday to return home.

Gayla Deines, Jessie and Justin were Saturday afternoon visitors of Charles and Darlene Gutsch.

Harry Schump of Herington hosted a 7 p.m. dinner Saturday at Saddle Rock at Council Grove for Earl and Evelyn Forsberg's birthdays. Others attending were Nanette Forsberg and Ethan and Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan.

C.J. and Pat Baker of Lawrence were Sunday overnight guests of Jack and Nancy Riggin.

Darrell and Candice Denault of Salina and Jerrod Denault of Olathe accompanied Neva Peterson to church Sunday and were dinner guests.

Burdette and Maureen Peterson and Rigo Salazar went Sunday to Wichita to help Shea Schrader celebrate her sixth birthday at the home of her parents, Ron and Jenny Schrader and her brother, Hunter.

Helping Neva Peterson celebrate her birthday Sunday afternoon were Darrell and Candice Denault of Salina, Jarrod Denault of Olathe, Dr. Larry Peterson of Granby, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Baker of Lawrence, Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington, Paul and Leona Anderson, Forrest and Marie Anderson, Ruth Riggin, Naoni Nelson, and Jack and Nancy Riggin.

Gary and Karen Korte of Emporia spent Saturday with Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Earl Forsberg and family are going Monday to Salina for tests. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington were Sunday evening visitors of Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Walters' Pumpkin Patch open Sept. 17-Oct. 31

Walters' Pumpkin Patch, Burns, will be open Sept. 17 through Oct. 31.

Hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Several new features have been added. There is an admission fee and an extra charge for some activities within the 73-acre site.
