Burdick folks attend wedding in Illinois

Those from Burdick attending the wedding of Pastor John Gerry and Lorraine Paine at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Vandalia, Ill., were Darrell and Jewell Swinney, Bruce and Alona Hedstrom, Burdette and Maureen Peterson, Galen and Janis Peterson, Dr. Robert and Hallie Novak. Retired Pastor Irvin Meseke performed the ceremony and is the father of Lorraine.
Items will be written Friday due to the Labor Day weekend and mailed at 3 p.m. that day.
Council of Clubs members will be getting ready for Labor Day Saturday morning. They appreciate any additional help they can get. Ice cream will be frozen Saturday at the meat market starting at 1 p.m.
American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary will meet Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson visited Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson one day this past week.
Erik Korte of Springfield, Mo., and Karen Korte of Emporia visited Forrest and Marie Anderson on Wednesday.
Sabrina Dunkin was a Friday dinner guest of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Charles and Arlene Carlson were Thursday evening supper guests of Ken and Alice Peterson.
Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove spent Saturday night with Earl and Evelyn Forsberg.
Bruce and Alona Hedstrom attended the 60th wedding anniversary of Alona's aunt and uncle, Kenneth and Esther Brabb, at the Presbyterian church in Manhattan. A family dinner followed.
Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody visited Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson on Saturday.
Sunday dinner and afternoon guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg, to celebrate Earl's 80th birthday, were Harry Schump of Herington, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove, Sabrina Dunkin, Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan, and Richard Forsberg. They celebrated Evelyn's birthday as well. Ice cream and cake were served in the afternoon.
Forrest and Marie Anderson were Sunday afternoon luncheon guests of Earl and Marcella Hermstein of White City.
Dr. Larry and Susie Peterson spent Sunday afternoon and night with Neva Peterson. They were on their way to Milwaukee to attend Harley-Davidson's 100th birthday. They had stopped at Salina and had noon lunch with Darrell and Candice Deneault. Sunday evening visitors of Neva and her guests were Jack and Nancy Riggin, Galen and Janis Peterson, Ty Peterson, Glenn Carlson, Paul Anderson, and Ruth Riggin.
