Burdick: Former teacher Bertino visits friends

Charles and Darlene Gutsch will host an informal gathering from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday for Yvonne (Mrs. Munson) Bertino. She is visiting from Tilbury, Ontario, Canada. The late Munson Bertino and Yvonne operated the Standard Station in Lincolnville in the mid '50s. She also was a music teacher at the old Lincolnville High School and a daughter-in-law of Lydia Bertino.

There will be a miscellaneous bridal shower for Cicely Carlson at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hebron Lutheran Church. Please bring your favorite recipes.

The Burdick Council of Clubs will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the shelterhouse or the Legion hall.

Monday evening guests of Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan, to celebrate Sabrina's 20th birthday, were Wade Rickenbrode and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Thomas of Council Grove, Sabrina Forsberg of Emporia, Nancy Hickman, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg, and Richard Forsberg. Wade Rickenbrode spent from Monday night until Thursday evening with the Earl Forsbergs.

Charles and Darlene Gutsch took Shelby Deines to her game in Lincolnville Tuesday evening. Jessica Deines also went with them. Jessica and Shelby went home with their grandparents to spend the night. They helped with some cleaning on Wednesday. Darlene took them home Wednesday night.

Neva Peterson was a coffee guest Friday afternoon of Norman and Edna Peterson of Herington. Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington also were guests.

Justin Deines went with Charles and Darlene Gutsch to Herington Thursday night where he played ball. Jessica Deines also accompanied them. Anthony Gutsch of Herington also played with his team Thursday night.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg were weekend guests of Teresa Hageberg and Phillip of Topeka. Phillip returned home with his grandparents Sunday evening.

Saturday dinner guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg were Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan.

Robert Nelson and Karen Semler of St. Louis, Mo., came this last weekend to visit Linnea Nelson and Karin Nelson. They are Linnea's grandchildren.

Earl and Evelyn Forsberg visited with Earl and Ruth Schump in Herington Sunday evening.
