Burdick Legion family night is Tuesday

Burdick senior citizens will meet at 7:30 p.m. March 14 at the Legion hall. Ken Nienstedt of rural Marion will entertain with his program, "Poems in Rhyme." Bring a treat to share for refreshments. Coffee and tea will be furnished. The public is invited.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg left Feb. 20 for Indianapolis, Ind., where they stayed with Dave and Becky Arrensen, Leah and Eric for the weekend. Other weekend guests were Bob and Marjorie Price and Carolyn Price of Atlanta, Ga. Gary and Marilyn started home Feb. 24, stopping at Topeka in the evening to visit Teresa Hageberg and Phillip and to take them out to supper celebrating Teresa's birthday. They returned home later in the evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Gutsch were Monday afternoon visitors of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg. The Forsbergs visited Irvin and Audine Strand Tuesday afternoon. Morgan and Wade Rickenbrode of Council Grove spent Friday night with Earl and Evelyn. Saturday guests of the Forsbergs were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan.

Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Baker of Salina and Mrs. Bob Riggin of Detroit were Wednesday afternoon coffee guests of Neva Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Deneault of Salina visited Neva Peterson this week. Their kitty Libby was put to sleep so they brought her out to bury in their animal cemetery.

Chelsea Beye of Herington spent Saturday and Saturday night with Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson.

Linda Carlson, Jonnie and Cicely Karst were hosts Saturday evening to a supper and party for Mike Carlson's birthday. Guests were Clinton and Diane Jost, Galen and Janis Peterson, Leon and Carolyn Nelson, Jim and Marilyn Peterson, Bill and Judy Peterson, Kent and Jean Brunner, Jill Brunner and Tucker of Manhattan, Amy Brunner of Salina, Melissa Stimac of Lawrence, Nolan Brunner, DeWayne and Joleta Payton of Abilene, Herb and Teresa Tressler of Kansas City, Spencer Tressler of Lawrence, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington, Bud and Maureen Peterson, Rob and Sandy Karst of Wichita, Jack and Nancy Riggin, Gloria Martin, and Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Neva Peterson rode with Jack and Nancy Riggin to Junction City Wednesday evening where they met with Bob Riggin and all went to Manhattan to attend the KSU-KU women's basketball game. It was exciting to be sitting among all the purple watching the game, the cheerleaders, and Willy the Wildcat. Neva reports she was treated like a queen, thanks to her good relatives.

Dr. Stanley and Joyce Nelson of Marysville spent Saturday and Sunday with Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson. All went to Hillsboro Sunday to have dinner with Angie Nelson and Ryan Regier of Hillsboro and Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody.

Charles and Arlene Carlson were Sunday supper guests of Kent and Jean Brunner.

Earl and Evelyn Forsberg visited Sunday afternoon with Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe, Savannah, and Ethan.
