Burdick Legion holds informational meeting

Corlberg-Smith Post will host the American Legion Veterans Affairs tour from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Monday. Those who have questions regarding VA benefits are urged to attend at the Legion hall.

Dr. and Mrs. Bob Anderson, Tulsa, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Anderson called on Neva Peterson Monday afternoon.

Joe, Savannah, and Ethan Forsberg were Monday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg. Earl and Ruth Schump of Herington were Monday evening visitors.

Visiting Charles and Arlene Carlson were Inez Schild, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Jean Brunner, Amy Brunner of Salina, and Ken and Alice Peterson of Herington.

Those calling on Goldie Steely were Inez Schild, Carol Lehmann, George and Shirley Miller, Jennifer Kassebaum and girls, Audine Strand, Shirley Gawith, Janet Johnson, Leona Anderson, Pastor Marilyn Cox, Marilyn Hageberg, Forrest and Marie Anderson, Lorna Spooner, Taylor and Josh, Connie Johnson, Kirsten and Kody, Allen and Marge Steely, Jane Brown and Kimberly, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hermstein, Ruth Riggin, Naomi Nelson, Tom Nelson, and Jamie Peterson.

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Forsberg, Savannah and Ethan and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan hosted a 7 o'clock dinner Tuesday at Council Grove for Mr. and Mrs. Earl Forsberg, who were observing their 55th wedding anniversary.

Ruth Riggin and Neva Peterson visited at the home of Phil and Janet Smith Saturday afternoon.

Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Savannah and Ethan, Sabrina Forsberg of Emporia, and Marcus Duncan of Fort Riley were guests of Earl and Evelyn Forsberg, celebrating Dean's birthday.

Mike and Linda Carlson were hosts to a birthday party for Cicely Saturday evening. Those attending were Johnny and Cicely Karst of Wichita, Dorothy Tressler of Herington, and Charles and Arlene Carlson.

Oliver Peterson entertained with Sunday dinner in Herington for Melvin Griepenstroh, Rolland Peterson, Roger Peterson, Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson, Josie and Scott Peterson of Lincolnville, Lester and Marie Thornton of Abilene, Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson of Lost Springs, Dr. Stanley and Joyce Nelson and Kristy of Marysville, Angie Nelson and Ryan Regier of Hillsboro, Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody, and Gary Nelson of Lenexa. They all met at the home of Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson.

Melvin Griepenstroh of Nampa, Idaho, left on Monday morning after a few days visit with Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson and other relatives.

Mary Deane Peterson visited Earl and Evelyn Forsberg Friday. Earl and Evelyn attended services for Edith Campbell Saturday afternoon at the Wilsey Cemetery.
