Burdick: Lutheran group presents program April 24 years ago

A group from Hebron Lutheran WELCA went April 24 to Bethany Home at Lindsborg to visit and present a program. The residents enjoyed singing along with old familiar hymns by the group accompanied by Pastor John Gerry on the guitar. Those in the group were Lorraine Gerry, Nancy Hanson, Alona Hedstrom, Naomi Nelson, Lois Peterson, Hallie Novak, and Pastor Gerry. Isla Rose Nelson of Lindsborg accompanied them. Hebron Lutheran WELCA met Wednesday at the church fellowship hall. Gloria Martin gave the lesson. Marilyn Peterson served refreshments. Attending were Lorraine Gerry, Dollye Novak, Alona Hedstrom, Naomi Nelson, Jewell Swinney, and Nancy Hanson.
Arlene Carlson hosted a birthday supper Wednesday for Charles Carlson. Guests were Jack and Nancy Riggin, Clint and Diana Jost, James Jost, Earl and Lois Peterson, Rolland Peterson, Roger Peterson, Mike and Linda Carlson, Kent and Jean Brunner of Lost Springs, and Ken and Alice Peterson and Nolan and Melissa Brunner and Leah of Herington.
Candice Denault of Salina came Friday afternoon to visit Neva Peterson and stayed until Saturday afternoon.
Charles and Darlene Gutsch attended the instrumental spring concert Monday evening at Herington. Their grandson, Anthony plays trombone in the sixth grade band.
Gary and Marilyn Hageberg, Denice Hageberg, Steven and Trevor, and Steve and Diana Dalton of Hillsboro attended the South Central District FFA banquet Monday evening at Wellington. Steven Hageberg was the recipient of a state and district award in ag-processing.
Visitors Monday evening of Evelyn Forsberg were Sabrina Dunkin and Logan of Herington, and Dean, Nanette, and Ethan Forsberg.
Mrs. Darrell Myer and daughter, Mrs. Brady Parks and children, Hank and Lily of Emporia were Saturday visitors of Neva Peterson and Candice Denault.
Joe Forsberg of Salina was a Tuesday afternoon visitor of Evelyn Forsberg.
Charles and Darlene Gutsch accompanied Ginger Richter, Greta Smith, and Juanita Helmer of Marion Wednesday evening to the home of Ray and Linda Gottstein at McPherson. They went to visit Gottstein's houseguest, daughter, Julie Moore and new baby, Alexander Julian of Gardner. Other guests were Rosie Gutsch, Bertie and DeWayne Herrs of McPherson, Becky Meyer of Wichita, and Sue Gutsch of Lincolnville. Ray and Linda served a buffet supper.
Ruth Riggin hosted an Easter egg hunt Easter Sunday at her house. Attending were Brian Sader, Trevin and Brylee, Corey Sader, Lyle and Julie Sader of Salina, Helen Sader of Herington, and Chris and Tisha Bielefeld, Megan and Seth of Peabody. Everyone enjoyed the hunt and the lunch that followed.
Earl and Lois Peterson visited Sunday evening with Walt and Katherine Otte.
Dinner guests Wednesday of Evelyn Forsberg were Harry Schump of Herington, Logan Dunkin, and Dean Forsberg.
Jim and Carol Miller of Delavan and May Hebrank of Hillsboro were visitors this week of Mary Deane Peterson.
Ruth Riggin was a Sunday dinner guest of Lyle and Julie Sader of Salina. Brian Sader of Salina also was a guest.
Whitney Gutsch of Herington visited Saturday morning with Darlene Gutsch. Perry Gutsch picked her up at noon on his way home from work.
Charles and Arlene Carlson visited Saturday afternoon with Jean Brunner and Tucker Brunner at Manhattan.
Sabrina Dunkin and Logan, and Dean and Nanette Forsberg, Joe and Ethan were Friday afternoon visitors of Evelyn Forsberg. Dean, Ethan, and Joe also visited Saturday.
Josie Peterson of Lincolnville spent the weekend with Mary Deane Peterson.
Mike and Jane Rickenbrode, Wade and Morgan of Council Grove hosted a 6 p.m. dinner Sunday for his mother, Carol Rickenbrode's birthday. Other guests included Bill and Bernice Rickenbrode of Hope, Harry Schump of Herington, and Evelyn Forsberg.
