Burdick residents report Labor Day guests

Gary and Karen Korte, Ian and Erin of Emporia spent the Labor Day weekend with Forrest and Marie Anderson.

Candice Deneault of Salina spent Aug. 28 helping her mother Neva Peterson celebrate her birthday. Sandy Carlson also called in the afternoon. Evening guests helping her celebrate were Mrs. Gene Nelson and Tom, Daniel Mikolajeah of Slovakia, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Miller, and Norman Peterson of Herington, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Riggin, Mr. and Mrs. Galen Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Anderson, Ruth Riggin, and Candice Deneault.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Tiede of Manitowoc, Wis., arrived Labor Day to spend a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson.

Marie Anderson and Karen Korte entertained with a dinner on Labor Day for Forrest Anderson's 80th birthday. Attending were Ed and Pastor Alix Pridgen and Joel of Herington, Charles and Mona Kniebel and Earl and Marcella Hermstein of White City, LaVern and Maurine Johnson of Lindsborg, and Gary Korte, Ian and Erin.

Mr. and Mrs. Ron Anderson and family of Kansas City and Don Anderson of Emporia spent the Labor Day weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Anderson.

Visitors of Eldon and Isla Rose Nelson during the past week were Earl and Lois Peterson, Oliver Peterson, Linnea Barlow, Earl Nelson of Lindsborg, Steve Borell of Alaska, and Geneva Borell of Lindsborg and her daughter Karen.

Burdick senior citizens will meet for a noon meal Sept. 19. More details later.

Linda Nelson of Lenexa took Eldon and Isla Nelson to the doctor in Salina Sept. 3.

Gary and Marilyn Hageberg spent Tuesday through Thursday with Teresa Hageberg and Phillip of Topeka. Teresa had surgery on Tuesday and was progressing well.

Marvin Peterson entertained for Josie's 12th birthday with a birthday dinner Sept. 3. Other guests were Bret and Lisa Beye, Samantha, Elizabeth, Cuyler, and Chelsea of Herington, Mr. and Mrs. Al Riffel, Rolland Peterson, Oliver Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Burdette Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson, Shelly Crowder of McPherson, Stanley Konarik of Lincolnville, Mary Haefner and Eric and Scott Peterson of Lincolnville.

Celebrating the birthdays of Eldon Nelson and Donna Hanneman at the McGillicuddy's Restaurant in Marion Sunday were Steve and Donna Hanneman of Peabody, Gary and Linda Nelson, David and Jennifer of Lenexa, Dr. Stanley and Joyce Nelson of Marysville, Angie Nelson and Ryan Regier of Hillsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Delk of Peabody, Betty Hanneman and a friend from Hillsboro, and Eldon and Isla Nelson.

Forrest and Marie Anderson visited on Thursday with Fred Shields at Salina.

Those gathering at the Woodbine Café for lunch Wednesday were Gene and Alta Tiede of Wisconsin, Gene and Barbara Tiede of White City, Art and Lelia Tiede of Chapman, Velda Jean Tiede of Council Grove, Jim Tiede of Salina, Lucille Tiede and Bill Huggins of Herington, and Paul and Leona Anderson of Burdick. Gene and Alta Tiede left for their home in Wisconsin after lunch.

Lee and Elinor Remy and Earl and Lois Peterson visited Wednesday evening with Bonnie Sill in the Junction City hospital and Naomi Nelson in the Manhattan hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Peterson accompanied Oliver Peterson, Roger Peterson, and Rolland Peterson to Leonardville Sunday to the Walsburg Lutheran Church. Bill Peterson of Herington is the parish ministry associate of the Walsburg and Oldsburg churches. Bill and Judy Peterson, Roger Peterson, Rolland Peterson, and Wendell and Mary Deane Peterson were dinner guests of Oliver Peterson after the services.

Ella Mae Schroer of Strong City, Linda Schroer of Wichita, and Ruth Riggin rode with Earl and Lois Peterson to Scandia Sunday noon to attend the Schroer reunion.
